| WFIM is an association for Women
in Food Industry Management. Its mandate is to provide
networking for personal growth to women in the food
industry and related industries. It does this through
monthly dinner meetings where members and guests
alike can come together to network and learn from
a guest speaker. Because one of Minotaurs focuses
has been on serving companies in the Food and Beverage
industries, Judith joined WFIM last fall to meet
these women of influence in the Greater Toronto
Area. |
 |
|
"Besides enjoying great meals
and talking with dynamic women from our target industry,
I have learned a great deal from the guest speakers. The
last presentation was from Linda Todd of Thompson Lightstone
and Company who spoke on consumer trends in the food industry.
She talked about the upward trend toward consumers buying
organic and other products that they perceived promoted
better health." Anyone is welcome to attend the dinner
events. For more details call Judith or the association
at (905) 883-9840 or log on to www.wfim.on.ca |

Since the implementation of the Minotaur System, Skjodt-Barrett
has had some specific requests for Minotaur. Some of the
work that Minotaur has done for Skjodt-Barrett includes
an Automated Lot Suggestion on Pick Slip and Production
Workorder. Various reports are used by Skjodt-Barrett
such as a Discount Report, Sales by Customer by Item by
Month Report and a Rework Column on Production Runs report
which allows the system to have the ability to send portions
of a finished good to an Inventory Location for Rework
when entering a Production Run. |
The laser form module was used to customize the production
run printout to satisfy the requirements of Skjodt-Barrett
production and QC departments. The production run printout
includes details on the QC testing required and product
specifications. |
Skjodt-Barrett has used the warehouse module to enable
the QC department to prevent the release of product before
all the QC tests have been completed and the product meets
specification. |
Skjodt-Barrett has a Time Clock Interface with Minotaur
which enables them to download a file out of the time
clock and into Minotaur. Data such as Employee Number,
Number of Hours Worked, and the corresponding Type of
Hours (i.e. Regular Hours, Overtime, Double Overtime,
etc) is downloaded into Minotaur and is then used by the
Payroll Module to pay plant employees. |
