GST Rate Change
January 1, 2008

The GST Rate will be reduced from 6% to 5% effective January 1, 2008.

Your GST Rate can be set in your ASI (System Administration / Modify System Status / Change Company Information) menu. This should not be done before January 1, 2008.

Once changed, the new rate will apply to any new transactions. Those customers who did not upgrade to the date sensitive GST in June of 2006, will need to be careful to override the system calculated GST rate when editing invoices dated prior to Jan 1st. That is, overwrite the 5% system calculated rate with the 6% rate which is the correct rate for invoices dated prior to Jan 1, 2008. Additional informational will follow shortly.

Customer Referral Program

Existing customers who provide referrals and act as a references are invaluable to any sales process. As such, we have put together a program to reward Employers and Employees for their time and effort in a transparent and ethical manner. Rewards are available for New Referrals and also for speaking to a prospective customer as a reference. Below is an outline of the program.
Referring a New Lead
1. Employer receives a $500 credit on their account to be applied to future fees.
2. Employee receives an iPod Classic (approx. $280)
3. The Lead must make a purchase within 12 months of the referral date.
4. Minotaur must not have been in active dialogue with the lead within the last three months.

Volunteering as a Reference
1. Employer receives a $250 credit on their account to be applied to future fees.
2. Employee receives an iPod Nano (approx. $170)
3. The Lead must make a purchase within 6 months of reference date.
4. Minotaur must not have been in active dialogue with the lead within the last three months

Note:
1. Minotaur will only offer a prospect the opportunity to talk with a reference, if we believe they are ready to buy. We value our customer’s time.
2. Minotaur will call the customer in advance to confirm a convenient time.
3. If a prospect insists on speaking with more than one reference, the benefit will be split between the number of companies/employees involved.
4. If an employer has a policy forbidding this type of program, a comparable alternative can be offered such as a donation to a charity of your choice.

If you have additional questions or would like to participate in the program, please email
paul@minotaursoftware.com.

Routes and Sequencing

Included in the current generic system is the ability to assign your customers to routes. This is particularly useful for those customers who run their own trucks. Order reports and pick slips can be generated by route to assist with the loading of trucks and managing deliveries. Assigning customers to routes will provide information with respect to the total weight going on a particular truck. If a truck contains too much weight or an order has become a rush delivery, orders can easily be switched between routes using the route allocation screen. A missing orders report is available which will highlight customers on a given route who have not placed an order for a particular period. That way, before your driver next drives that route, order entry staff can telephone those customers in attempt to get an order.

In addition to assigning your customers a route, you can also assign them a sequence on that route. This information will provide a delivery list for the driver and invoices can be printed in order of delivery for those customers who deliver the invoice along with the order.

If you would like more information on routing and sequencing abilities or would like a quote to incorporate these features into your system, please speak with your project manager.

November - Trade Show Month

Minotaur continues to maintain a strong presence within the industries important to our customers. As such, November has been a busy month for Minotaur’s Sales staff as we participated in 3 tradeshows all to reach the Ontario Food Industry.

The first on November 8th was the Ontario Food Protection Association Annual General Meeting held at the Mississauga Convention Centre. The second was the CIFST (Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology) tabletop at the International Centre in Toronto held on November 13th. The final one was the Guelph Food Technology Association Lot Traceability Symposium held at the Pearson Centre on November 13th and 14th.

In addition to our draw at each trade show for a Virtually Indestructible Keyboard, we also had bags of Italpasta’s new whole wheat pasta (rotini, spaghetti and penne) as giveaways to trade show attendees that stopped at the Minotaur booth. A great big thank you to Minotaur customer, Italpasta, who generously donated these items.

The tradeshow winners of the Virtually Indestructible Keyboards were:

CIFST Tradeshow Winner: Hitesh Vyas, Sunny Crunch Foods Ltd.
GFTA Tradeshow Winner: Jeff Jones, Ontario Regional Sales Manager for Domino Printing Solutions Inc.
OFPA Tradeshow Winner: Jennifer Ng, QMI Management Systems

Remember, these enclosed, wipe drown keyboards are inexpensive and great for receiving, shipping and production environments.

User Conference Feedback

The user conference was well attended and overall everyone was pleased with the facility again this year. Below is a table of results showing how you rated the sessions this year. We value your feedback and will try to incorporate some of your suggestions into our next event.

Some features you asked about were:

1. User selected fonts and/or larger fonts on reports.
2. Ability to customize appearance of reports and save formatting. ie. bold, title size.
3. Customer ordering templates—this we have, please give your account manager a call.
4. Prevent posting to parent accounts.
5. Options for remote users.
6. Combined/easier customer access for credit management, comments, A/R aging, etc.

We’re working hard to bring as many enhancements to MBS7 as we can. Feel free to forward additional ideas to wendy@minotaursoftware.com.
