| Minotaur’s Annual User Conference, a great success. |
Minotaur held it’s annual user conference the beginning of November. The three day event focused on training on various modules and report writing. This new format proved to be very popular as most of the sessions were completely booked. We want to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm.
For those of you who were not able to attend a particular session,
the training room is available for private booking for generic or customized training sessions. These could be Minotaur training sessions or sessions geared to increasing skill level for sales and support staff in Excel or PowerPoint for instance.
We received lots of valuable input on your surveys and throughout the sessions and are in the process of adding your suggestions to our MBS7 development list. It was great to be able to see and speak with so many of you at this year’s event. |

Minotaur Presents at
CGA Professional Development Evening
An Introduction to EDI |
 |
| |
On October 2, 2008, Wendy, Terry and Judith gave a presentation to a CGA group on Electronic Data Interchange.
The event was well attended and we were able to speak with a number of controllers and accountants
about the benefits of EDI and moving towards an integrated system.
Benefits of Integrated EDI:
- Seamless to the user.
- System checks and validates purchase order pricing, ship to's, etc and produces a variance report.
- Increased efficiency and accuracy due to no rekeying of information.
- Automatic issuing of functional acknowledgements.
If you are doing EDI with some of your customers outside Minotaur and feel the volume of transactions may
be sufficient to warrant the investment in Minotaur's fully integrated EDI module, please contact your Project
Manager for details. |

| ROE Web Interface and T4 Laser Forms |
 |
| |
Minotaur is pleased to offer the new ROE Web Interface and T4 Laser Forms with the 2009 payroll update.
The new ROE Web Interface allows users to enter ROE information in Minotaur for
employees and have the system calculate the Insurable Earnings and hours based on
the data entered. Once the ROE is entered you can run the ROE report to verify the
data, edit the ROE to make any corrections and finally generate the ROE file. Once the
file is created you would use the Services Canada ROE Web program to load the
file, submit and print the ROE. Please note that Services Canada requires users
to register for ROE Web. For more information on ROE Web and how to register
visit www1.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/employers/roe_web.shtml
Also included in the 2009 payroll update is the new T4 Laser Forms. This new
format allows you to print T4 on blank paper eliminating the need for pre-printed T4
forms.
For more information on these new features contact your Minotaur Account Manager. |

| New Features in Minotaur |
 |
| |
| Are You Shipping to Customers Where Product May Be Several Days in Transit? |
| |
| In order to assist companies with managing sales order fulfillment, the sales order screen can now include a customer
request date field. The existing due date field (which is the date product should leave your facility and which drives your
inventory requirement reports) can be automatically populated using the new customer request date field plus the lead
time as set up in the
customer master.
For those companies
dealing with fresh
product, customer
criteria can be used
such
that
only lots with a specified minimum number of days before expiry would be suggested for picking. |
| |
 |
|
|
| |
| Using
these features will ensure your distance customers receive the same level of service as your local
ones. For more information on these abilities, please contact your project manager. |

 |
| |
The Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters association is managing a Government of Ontario funded program called - Smart Program.
The purpose of the Smart Program is to help small and medium sized manufacturers improve productivity so they can compete more effectively. Financial support is available for projects that implement:
· Lean manufacturing and design
· IT best practices
· Process and Quality Improvements
· Increased Energy Efficiency

The program funding includes costs for training and feasibility studies. Funding is limited to $50,000 and a maximum of 50% of eligible costs. This program is open to any manufacturer in Ontario that has been in business for 2 years, has between 10 and 500 employees at the facility where the project will be implemented and has a project that can be completed in four to six months.
Applications can only be submitted via the website. You will need to have contacted someone at one of the reference organizations (listed on the website) prior to submitting your completed application as you must reference their name.
These individuals are also available to discuss your project.
More information on this program is available at: http://www.cme-smart.ca/
Project ideas that may qualify include hand held scanning in the warehouse, touch screen production, bringing external processes into Minotaur, etc. We have had customers previously qualify and receive funding from the government Lot Traceability Program.
AIME Initiative—This program managed by the Yves Landry Foundation offers grants up to $50,000 to be specifically used for training or retraining of employees to support new technologies, new processes or procedures. 100% of trainer costs and 50% of employee wages are eligible. Program guidelines and application forms can be found at: http://www.yveslandryfoundation.com/programs.shtm This is a great grant to consider if you wish to invest in the knowledge of your staff. Minotaur could design and offer training programs at our location or yours. Ideas that may qualify include implementing lot control, improving reporting skills, manage inventory levels through improving purchasing, requirements
and production planning, increasing efficiency and accuracy at sales order entry, etc. |
