We appreciate all the feedback from last year’s User Conference survey. Our customers have consistently
said that although attendance at past conferences have been very valuable a more hands on approach would be beneficial. So this years conference will take on a whole new format. Not only will this years conference spread out over several days, it will also offer users a more hands on approach with a focus on user training. Our training room will be set up with workstations or you can bring a laptop for yourself if you prefer.

So mark your calendars. Minotaur’s annual User Conference will be held on November 5, 6 and 7 at our Headquarters in Brampton, Ontario.

As always, this event is covered under your annual support agreement and is open to all members of your organization.

Whether it is new features, training or networking with other Minotaur customers, we will do our best to ensure your attendance is rewarding and enjoyable.

Registration will take place by phone and email later in the summer. Space will be limited so be sure to reserve your seat.

The Minotaur User Forum site offers users the opportunity to connect with other Minotaur users and exchange ideas on how get the most out of their Minotaur system. Share your knowledge of the Minotaur system with other users by posting your tips\tricks or post your questions online and get answers from other Minotaur users. Managing new product development can be a challenge. Often production and R&D have different needs and from an operations standpoint – things need to be kept separate.

To assist those companies with managing this area of the business, Minotaur offers an R&D Module that will:

  • Keep new/sample raw materials and finished goods separate from mainstream production.
  • Track multiple versions of formulae.
  • Allow developers to utilize product development raw materials in addition to existing inventoried raw materials when developing formulae.
  • Identify the cost associated with each formulation.
  • Print a work order for a sample batch and run a pilot production run.
  • Easily transfer an accepted formula into mainstream production.

    The formulation screen in the existing configuration is based on weight %.
 
Of course, as the developer we can modify the screen should your department think differently. If you would like to incorporate product development abilities into your Minotaur system or would like more information, please contact your project manager.
 
 
Ecology Taxes Tracking Fees Based on the Packaging of Items
 
Do you charge your customers 15¢ per case of bottled juice when shipping to Alberta but another fee when shipping to Newfoundland? Don’t manage this manually...
 
For customers who need to charge and remit tax based on the packaging of the items being shipped, we offer an ecology tax configuration. Items are assigned an ecology stub. When an order is entered, the system will automatically add tax based on the province of the ship to customer and the ecology stub of the item being sold. This tax will be accrued in a liability account similar to the handling of PST. For more information on adding this configuration to your system, please contact your project manager.

Printing labels with scannable barcodes is a giant step towards increasing warehouse efficiencies, improving inventory management and product traceability control.

In order to use hand held abilities fully in an automated warehouse, all items need to be barcoded. Some of your items may already be arriving with appropriate barcodes. For other items, you may need to print barcoded labels. In Minotaur, labels can be printed at receiving, work order entry, production in addition to other areas. Once product is properly labeled you can utilized Minotaur’s hand held abilities to receive, ship and transfer product, scan raw materials to work orders or finished goods into inventory in addition to performing inventory counts.

Canadian Business Women’s Mission to China
 
Judith is going to China
 
Judith Kirkness, VP of Sales and Marketing, will be joining a business women’s trade mission to China from October 21st to November 1st. She will be investigating the state of the industry in the food and chemical markets that we serve to see where they are technologically.
