MINOTAUR’S AUTOMATIC REPORTING FEATURE

Want to run a report without going through the standard Minotaur input screen? Prompt users for the date range for instance but have all other defaults set so the user cannot change. This newly added Automatic Reporting ability will allow you to simplify the running of existing Minotaur reports.

For instance, if users run a report from within the advanced sales report module, they are presented with the following input screen.

When using automatic reporting and setting the report to only require the entry of a date range for instance, the user is presented with the following screen.

Similar to the various report writers, you assign the report a code which users locate in a lookup box to run. All automated reports are in one location – no need to know where in the system to find a report. An added benefit of this feature is that sales reports can be set up so that they will only display results where the sales rep code on the invoice matches the user id for the person logging in to the system. If you would like more information on this feature, please contact your account manager.

2009 Meat & Food Processing Expo

Minotaur participated in the 2009 Meat and Food Processing Expo held in February at the International Centre in Toronto. Working the booth that weekend were Kathy Giannantonio, Judith Kirkness and Wendy Pineo. Wendy is shown giving a demonstration of Minotaur’s plant floor technology for weighing and labeling product. The show was busy both days and was followed by the gala dinner event where the winners of Ontario’s Finest Meats Competition were given awards. Congratulations to Minotaur customers Halenda’s Fine Foods and Holly Park Meat Packers for being award winners.

You Can Now Customize Your Minotaur Menu Screen Backgrounds

If you are running the latest version of our system you may have discovered the addition of two new fields to the System Data screen, Background File and RDT Background. These fields are used to set the background colours, where Background File is used for non remote connections and RDT Background is used for remote connections. Users can set different colours for each of their company directories allowing them to easily distinguish between each database they are running. The colour file you select will also change the colour of the Minotaur Icons.

You can select from one of our preset background colours by simply inserting the file name of the corresponding colour they wish to set in the appropriate field. If you leave these fields blank the system will default the background colour to the standard Minotaur blue.

You may also choose to create your own backgrounds using your company logos or colours. To do so you would need to create a jpg file, sized appropriately and save it in your data\image directory.

In order to make the working speed for the remote connection as quick as possible, the colour files do not contain logos.

For more information on background colours available or how to create your own background file please contact your Minotaur Account Representative.

Minotaur’s latest version, MBS7 boast lots of great new features such as the ability to quickly email pdfs, viewing forms on screen, Excel button feature, improved process speed and much more. Minotaur currently has 26 Customers running MBS7. Here is what Leo Giannantonio, Owner of Sweet Creations had to say about switching to MBS7.

“It is great being able to see my forms onscreen and easily email them to customers. I also noticed the invoicing process is a lot quicker. It was definitely worth switching”

If you haven’t already done so, contact your Minotaur account rep and find out how you too can reap the benefits of MBS7.

We would also be more than happy to show you an online demo of the various features MBS7 has to offer. Simply email wendy@minotaursoftware.com to arrange a time.

Pending Supplier Price List Feature

Minotaur now offers the ability to store date based pricing by product and supplier. The Items Supplier option (VUPMS) is used to enter and store supplier pricing by date.

When an order is entered for a supplier that has a price set up in the Item Supplier screen for the specified product the system will cross-reference the purchase order date with the date assigned to that suppliers price to determine what price to use.

For more information on this feature or to find out how you add this feature to your system please contact your Minotaur account representative.
