Using Minotaur’s handheld interfaces, you can automate your warehouse and production area feeding live information to your Minotaur system through the use of bar code capable handheld computers or PDA’s. Minotaur documents can be designed to include bar codes and labels containing bar coded information can be produced for application on your incoming raw ingredients, as well as to any buy/sell items and finally to your finished goods in the production area. Handhelds can then be used to scan items as they are moved around the warehouse, for picking and use in production, for conducting
inventory counts and inventory adjustments and finally for picking and shipping sales orders to customers.

By scanning documents like a work order and then scanning the raw ingredient labels as the ingredients are added, you can have an instant direct lot number link between finished goods and the individual ingredients used to produce that product, making a recall by any of your suppliers localized and easily traceable.
A UCC Interpretation interface with cross reference tables and decoding abilities is also available if you wish to scan your suppliers existing standard bar code labels (EAN.UCC) on product received.
Minotaur can customize any of the input screens on these interfaces to ensure the handheld process follows your logical workflow.
Full Minotaur functionality is available through the handheld devices using scrolling for any functions that have not been adapted to small screen. Icons can be created for quick access to repeat functions.
Hardware Requirements
Handhelds need terminal server capability. Minotaur will be happy to consult with your wireless hardware provider to review the specifications of your hardware purchase for optimal use with Minotaur’s small screen interfaces —we do not sell hardware but can direct you to wireless hardware providers that other Minotaur customers have used successfully. We have experience printing to several brands of label printers and are happy to test any existing hardware in our office for compatibility.
